In this POP-ID debrief, we explore the vision and values behind the Sensus Collective Holiday Pop-Up. Founders Scarlett and Matilde share insights into their curation process, their dedication to building a community of creators and independent brands, and how they’re reimagining the retail landscape.

How does the Sensus Collective Holiday Pop-Up reflect its mission to champion sustainability, diversity, and creativity?
The Sensus Collective Holiday Pop-Up is a celebration of independent brands from all over the world, each chosen for their unique approach to design and their commitment to community-driven values. While sustainability is important and a non-given,, our primary focus is on showcasing diverse, creative brands that reflect the global landscape of independent craftsmanship and innovation. By curating products from a wide array of cultures and backgrounds, we create a space where people can discover the stories behind these brands and support artisans, designers, and creators who are redefining the future of retail.

What inspired the brand selection for this event, and how does it align with Sensus’s vision of modern consumerism?
The brand selection for our Holiday Pop-Up is inspired by the desire to bring together independent, global brands that challenge conventional retail. We seek out makers who prioritize creativity, authenticity, and cultural expression, rather than mass-market trends. This aligns with Sensus’s vision of modern consumerism, where customers are encouraged to embrace products with purpose, craftsmanship, and a sense of individuality. We aim to offer more than just a shopping experience—it’s about discovering diverse, quality-driven brands that tell compelling stories and offer something different from mainstream retail.

How do pop-ups serve as platforms for community and connection in the evolving retail space?
Pop-ups like ours are powerful platforms for creating community and connection. Unlike traditional retail spaces, pop-ups offer a chance to directly engage with independent brands and the people behind them. Sensus Collective events foster a sense of belonging, where customers can connect over shared values and experiences, discovering new ideas and products while supporting small, diverse businesses. In an evolving retail landscape, these temporary spaces offer a personal, immersive experience that builds stronger relationships between brands and consumers, creating a vibrant community that celebrates creativity and individuality.
What’s next for Sensus Collective as they continue to shape the future of shopping?
Sensus Collective will continue expanding its presence by hosting pop-ups in new cities and curating fresh, independent brands from around the world. We’re excited to amplify global voices and promote creativity through collaborations that challenge the traditional retail model. As we grow, we’ll focus on creating experiences that go beyond shopping—offering spaces for discovery, connection, and meaningful engagement with brands that inspire change. Our vision is to reshape the future of shopping by making it more about community, authenticity, and supporting independent creators worldwide.
Open until Sunday, December 15th, the Sensus Collective Holiday Pop-Up is more than just a shopping destination — it’s a celebration of craft and community.
