With London Fashion Week just around the corner, we’re looking back at some of our favourite fashion activations. One of them was Oslo Runway, a showroom bringing together Norwegian fashion and lifestyle brands for an introduction to the UK market, with K&H Comms delivering the London activation.

For international brands, London offers access to a highly connected fashion community of buyers, press, creatives, stylists, retailers and potential partners. But arriving in the city is only the beginning. Creating a reason for people to gather is what turns presence into opportunity.

A year on, the collaboration remains a strong example of how international fashion can successfully enter new markets. As Norway’s leading showcase for contemporary fashion and lifestyle brands, Oslo Runway has spent the past decade championing Scandinavian design at home while expanding its international presence through cities including London, Copenhagen and Paris.

The activation was made possible through its partnership with K&H Comms, the London-based brand-building agency appointed to amplify Norwegian fashion within the UK. Together, the two organisations created helped emerging and established labels grow beyond their domestic market.

London as a Launchpad for International Brands

A physical activation gives brands the chance to introduce themselves in person, start conversations and build relationships that are difficult to replicate online.

For a group of international brands, there is an added opportunity to create a collective presence. A shared showroom or multi-brand pop-up can bring different audiences together, encourage discovery and give each brand greater visibility within a wider experience.

For brands entering a new market, this kind of physical presence can be particularly valuable. It gives them the chance to understand their audience, make introductions and build relationships that can continue long after the activation closes.

Looking Ahead to London Fashion Week

Oslo Runway is a good reminder of what can happen when international brands, local partners and the right physical setting come together.

London provides the audience, but the activation creates the opportunity: to introduce a brand, start a conversation, make a connection and give people a reason to remember you.

As September approaches, we’re looking forward to seeing more international brands make that move into London and become part of the city’s fashion conversation.
