Fabric of Society x Aya Ghandour Pop-Up

That’s a wrap on Fabric of Society’s special event at The Twenty Two in London.

Hosted by Aya Ghandour, the evening saw editors, digital creators, VIP clients and more connecting over a shared passion — innovative, responsible and luxury fashion.

Founded in 2022, Fabric of Society curates next-gen designers, eco-conscious brands and luxury international labels. More than a shopping destination, it’s a platform created to introduce customers to the most exciting and exclusive designer collections.

In this edition of The Debrief, we cover the inspiration behind Fabric of Society’s latest pop-up, the qualities of a stand-out collection, and highlights from the shop.

The pop-up experience is a fantastic way to bring together the diverse collections Fabric of Society spotlights, featuring heritage craftsmanship, and cutting-edge fashion, all in one space. From private showroom appointments to at-home try-ons, they offer a personalised and unforgettable experience.

Fabric of Society champions next-gen brands and eco-conscious designers. How did you select the collaborators and collections featured at your latest event?

This event was to showcase our latest AW24 collections and we created a great mix of brands. We like to showcase in an intimate setting so that we can explain to people exactly what’s so special about the brands, such as those who are using century-old techniques to create the most modern and fashion-forward clothing, to those who are trying completely new ways to create fashion. We also mix this with great global designers who also share our ethos that luxury fashion can also still be super relaxed and fun.

Sustainability plays a significant role in your mission, from using deadstock materials to eco-friendly delivery. How do you communicate these values in the design and promotion of your pop-ups?

We tend to be mindful of how much waste we create at events – whether that is food waste, or event collateral. We also hire and borrow rather than buying things where we can.

What trends do you predict will shape the future of fashion and pop-ups in the coming years?

The event is only part of an activation. Everything in the lead up to something and the aftermath needs to play into that story. For both fashion and events we hope to see more awareness about waste and how to reduce that too.

What advice would you give to emerging designers looking to build and engage their communities?

We have a diverse collection of designers on Fabric of Society, ranging from brands who are known globally to smaller niche labels. I think in order to connect and engage you need to have a strong point of difference and be super clear and communicative on that from the start.

After hosting a fashion event, what were the biggest lessons learned, and how will they influence your future pop-ups?

Everything takes longer than you think it will do – so ensure you have extra time built in to your plan to allow for this and any last-minute changes!
